I was asked to design a logo and a business card for the independent lawyer and mediation/consulting specialist. The goal was to design something that is ‘friendly’ looking (taken it’s a mediation process, where the parties already feel frustrated, angry, anxious, unsettled), but that would also look professional and convey the ‘services’. So, how do you design a logo for a lawyer?
Having conducted enough of the research, looking what’s been done before, what images & colors have been used to associate with this kind of services, and to dis-include all of it.
If you’ve ever designed a logo/branding for law services, you’d probably have seen the many boring, expected designs out there. I wanted to stay away from those very obvious images. You can’t even imagine how many of the scales images are being used as a logo for the law/mediation services.
So, I wanted it clean, subtle, friendly, positive and, in a way, neutral. Here’s what I’ve come up with and what the client ended up using: (dismiss the colors, as it was something vey flexible and changeable)
